User ability to change its own password / role

Hello,

What is the best way to ensure that a specific user, has the ability to change its own password, taking into consideration, that we don’t intent to use federation.

We believe that we need to use the Manage Account + Personal Info + Account Security + Signing in. However, we need to know what role is necessary to allow the user to change its own password (only his own password).

If I recall correctly, by default users have access to change their own password.

We were thinking about doing this via API, but already saw that this functionality by the user, was removed. Right?
